How is Omnata different from other Reverse ETL tools?

Reverse ETL can be a confusing term for people who are not close to the industry. Reverse ETL is an application that works in the same way as an ETL tool but instead of extracting data from applications and loading it to a data warehouse, it extracts data from a data warehouse and loads it to applications. Load jobs and data transformations are built, maintained and orchestrated from this middle layer.

On the other hand, Omnata is built on the idea that all data transformations should occur in the data platform and integrations to applications should be managed just like other analytical outputs.
